"We just wanted to thank you for helping purchase this wonderful mare. We now call her Sadie:) She is the belle of the barn and has been such a pleasant addition to our family. I can't say enough about the foundation of this horse. No one can believe this mare is a 3 yr old, & I have been able to show and maintain her on my own. She did so well at our first show, taking home many blues and overall champion. Thanks again!"
"Purchasing Gotta Getta Goodbar from Stacey Colgan-Kleikamp has been one of the most pleasurable experiences I have had in the horse industry for quite some time. I had many questions (questions Stacey diligently answered) and concerns about purchasing a two year old sight unseen and thousands of miles being between us. Charlie has been everything and MORE that Stacey claimed him to be. The training on this youngster is phenomenal! I would recommend a horse from Stacey to anyone, they will truly be what she says."
"I contacted Stacey after seeing a video of her gorgeous black and white paint gelding, on youtube. His color and movement caught my eye right away. I emailed Stacey, who got back to me very quickly, and answered every question I had. She was very efficient with having the vet come out and get all the paper work organized to export Ralph to Canada. He has been in his new home for a few days now and is doing well. He is everything Stacey had told me and more. Quiet, kind, easygoing and pretty much anyone can ride him. Thanks for all your help and I look forward to years of success with Ralph."
"Hi Stacey, I had to let you know that Hez Impulsively Good did awesome today at our horse show. We were entered in five classes and he came out with five firsts and grand champion halter. Nermal is doing great and I am getting the hang of him finally. We were entered in trail but after his performances I just canceled them as I could not of asked for anything more. We are starting to click and I am really enjoying him. We have one more show next week then he will be turned out until after harvest for a well deserved rest. I again thank you for suggesting him to me and being so honest. No one today would believe that I found you and him on the Internet... LOL I have had more offers to purchase him, but I know he has found his forever home."
"I contacted Stacey about two horses that I had seen on dream horse. Both well turned out and I talked with Stacey many times by email and phone and asked for additional videos. She was fantastic to work with and though I would have loved to be able to purchase both mares I had to decide. I thought Invited Cuz Im Gold would be a better fit for me. She arrived here yesterday and I met her for the first time. She is exactly as advertised! I will let you know how we do as we get to know each other better. Thank you."
"We have had Tex now for almost three weeks...I thought I better fill you in on how things are going! We all LOVE him! He's very quiet and kind and is getting along great with my daughter. There is a horse show this coming weekend and I've promised the girls I will take them (if they get their chores done this week!). I will try to get some photos and forward to you as soon as possible so that you can see how great they look together.
Thanks again for all of your help through out this process! He really is a sweet boy and we are delighted to have him!"
"I was really hesitant about buying a horse unseen in person, and my family and friends thought I was crazy. But after watching the videos and seeing Stella's pic, I was I love. So I bit the bullet and bought her. In less than a week she arrived, and I'm more in love! Stacey advertises the total truth, everything she says about her horses is smack on. I would so buy from her again. Thank you Stacey for such a great mare. I can't wait for show season to start."
"I was looking for an AQHA all-around prospect, when I came across a video posted by Stacey Colgan-Kleikamp on a Facebook group. The two-year old gelding seemed to be along the lines of what we were looking for, so we contacted Stacey for more information. We bought him sight unseen (apart from the video) and started making arrangements to get him to Canada. When we got “Bentley” home, he was everything Stacey said he was AND MORE! You could tell that much time had been spent with him doing groundwork, and when I rode him for the first time, I was happy to learn that he had been started very well. The more time I spend with my bay roan boy, the happier I am with him. I would ABSOLUTELY deal with Stacey again in the future."
"Hi Stacey,
Hope all is well with you. It's been a while. Just wanted to update you on Elliot (You Are Invious) and thank you again for a wonderful horse. Thought you might like to know how he is doing and possibly the previous owner may like to know too.
Aly has been showing and riding him quite a bit. She has been working with a trainer once a week since December. She has won high point and high point reserves...it seems like they are always in the ribbons. She is totally in love with him. They make a great team and look beautiful together."
"I have an update for you about Only Hot Kisses- we went to our first show this weekend. We just went in showmanship, a walk/trot class and a snaffle bit class. I was extremely happy with how she did. I did lead line with my niece on Sunday. She is so quiet and has been handling everything great.
I am the "talk of the town" that I bought a horse off of the internet without
seeing her in person. I have to admit it was a scary process, but she has
exceeded my expectations so far. You were right, I do LOVE HER!! :) "
"Thank you so much for selling us such an amazing horse,One Hot Chiclett(aka Minnie). Shes better than we could have ever imagined. I have shown this year in the all around events. She has proven herself not only to be a superior western pleasure horse but also a hunter under saddle horse. She is also learning and picking up quick trail and patterns. We are champions on one of the show circuits and also reserve! At the last show everyone got goosebumps watching us in the easy loper class and thinks we should be doing Congress this year. So next year we will be attending the Quarter Horse Congress!! She is truly an amazing and talented horse. Once again thank for allowing us to purchase this horse.
Thanks you Stacey!"
"I thought I would drop you a note and let you know that Chandler, the Zips Chocolate Chip son, is doing well and winning the hearts of everyone. He is really a sweetheart and is very popular in the barn. And of course everyone comments on what a handsome boy he is! If spring ever arrives I hope to get outside on the trails with him. We had him out a few times last fall and he did very well. While we are waiting for better weather, my trainer has taken him in a couple shows and he has won most all his classes. He seems to take the show
environment in stride and I am hoping for a busy summer.
Thank you for a great horse."
"I am so glad that I found you when I was looking at western trainers all those years ago! You taught me everything about western and showing, with patience and kindness. You got me over my fear of loping and/or falling off after so many bad experiences with past trainers. You gave me the opportunity to use Dewie and Paris for OHSET, which was one of my favorite parts of high school. Lastly, you taught me the skills and love of riding that I will carry on to OSU's IHSA team. Thank you so much for everything!"
"I brought my eight year old daughter to Stacey about a year ago. Victoria was at the point where I wasn’t sure she even wanted to continue riding. She was frustrated, upset and generally unhappy each time we would go to the stable. Stacey began working with her and helped her regain a confidence she had lost. Her horse, at the time, was a sassy mare that wasn’t a good fit. Stacey helped us find the perfect horse for Victoria. Together, Stacey has helped them become an amazing team. Thanks to Stacey, Victoria has become a very solid rider. She can ride most horses with confidence and enjoys her barn time now in a way she had not in the past. Stacey is very kind and helpful and always offers suggestions and comments. She is currently training our new horse, a three year old. His progression is stunning. He has been in training with Stacey for only a few months. A couple of weeks ago, he and Victoria won High Point Champion at a local show. They were up against much older kids and riders, but thanks to Stacey, Victoria had the confidence in herself and her horse to compete at her best. Stacey’s knowledge is invaluable and she never seems to tire of endless questions."
"Just a quick note to say how much my daughter Samantha and I appreciate all you have done for us. I asked around for months to find a trainer that was kind to the horses and soft spoken to her riders. Your name came up and I was told you would be a good match for Samantha. After Samantha's first lesson I was sure we had found gold and we did in you. You have done wonders with Samantha and her horse. People are always telling me how amazed my 10 year old is such a good rider and will get on any horse with confidence and ride it well and I thank you for that.
You are way above any expectations I was looking for in a trainer. We are looking forward to many years ahead."
"I have utilized all of Stacey Colgan-Kleikamp's services of training, lessons, and sales and have been pleased with all of them. I have known Stacey for a couple years now, and enjoy working with her. Her honesty, positive attitude, friendliness, and her way of training her horses I really
appreciate. Stacey is great with the horses, and is quiet with them, but gets the job done. I have used other trainers, but she is the best! She takes the time to get the horse "broke" doing the basics and a lot more. I know my horses are getting trained six days a week, and are being well
taken care of, and the results show. Stacey's lessons are very valuable, and I always go back home having learned lots, and feeling good about myself and my horse. It is so nice to have her help and support at the shows, and she always is positive, caring, and willing to take whatever time is needed to help my horse and myself.
Stacey is good at selling horses as well, and sold my horse in a couple months. She puts ads on the internet and horse papers, sends out lots of videos, and responds promptly with inquires. Stacey also takes the time to do a good video. I recommend her for all of her services she provides. She is very nice, sincere, and fun to be around, as well as very educational, as I have learned so much from her. Try her, you won't be disappointed!"
"I am another one of Stacey’s students who highly recommends her to anyone out there looking to better themselves and/or their horse(s)! I ran across Stacey’s website about a year ago when I was searching for a trainer for a paint gelding I had just bought. My first clue that it was meant to be was that we shared the same name and obviously a love for horses!!! So, I emailed Stacey knowing that she trained mostly Quarter horses, but thinking it couldn't hurt. The efficiency of her response was amazing! That is just one wonderful quality Stacey possesses. She agreed to take him into training, which was the start of a year in which much valuable knowledge was learned, and a friendship was made.
Stacey’s natural ability to train is amazing, not only the horse but the rider. She is quiet and calm, while still getting her point across. I have always been fascinated with the training aspect of horses. In the past year I have learned so much from Stacey, things that I can use in the future. I have watched her teach horses things that I didn't think were possible and convince me I could ride English which I was almost positive wasn't possible! Stacey can give a rider the confidence one needs to be a strong rider without ever putting you down.
As a business person myself, I have a high amount of respect for Stacey. She is always very professional, accurate, efficient and honest. I can trust Stacey with anything and know she is being fair. I recently bought a Quarter horse from Stacey and he is absolutely the best horse, I really love him to death. It helps buying from someone you know and trust! If you ever need a horse sold she is wonderful at that as well. All the way from sending videos to taking phone calls. You can always believe what Stacey says is true and she will always try to match up the right horse to the right rider.
From the barn to the show ring she is always professional and there to help. The show world is a new experience for me, and I cant imagine doing it without Stacey’s help and encouragement. She makes it fun and has a group of students that are also great and enjoy what they are doing. This past year I not only found an amazing trainer but found a wonderful friend.
That is why I so highly recommend Stacey as a trainer! I don’t think any one would be disappointed with her!"
"I would highly recommend Stacey Colgan-Kleikamp to anyone looking for a trainer. She is wonderful. I had a paint horse and she trains quarter horses, but I knew we would click from the first time I spoke to her and heard about her program. I wanted the right person for me and my horse so decided to look at Quarter horse trainers also.
We had come out of a barn where we were not making the progress we had hoped. My paint trainer was very busy with shows and other clients and did not have the time I required to train my very green gelding and myself (a very novice rider).
I had big dreams of showing again and had worked really hard to get to a point in my life where I could dedicate time, money and effort into my passion. Showing horses after a 20+ year absence was a huge endeavor. I had worked very hard to lose a great deal of weight (still working on that), bought a very nice paint gelding and could hardly wait to live my dream. I took a chance and decided to go to a quarter horse barn. I felt very comfortable with Stacey the moment I met her. What a great decision! My gelding is doing fantastic with her and has really come so far in a relatively short time. She really works hard to try to please and help you reach your goals and truly loves her job and horses. She treats all of her clients with the same amount of respect and gives each of us equal time. My boy loves her. She has the patience of Jobe and is extremely talented. Her clients are really fun and supportive of each other.
Stacey has given me the confidence as well as helping me develop my skills so I will be able to show next season on the quarter horse circuit with my new boy. She truly understands this passion we all have. Her clients as well as her horses love her. I don’t feel I could be in better hands. If you dream, dream big, no matter if you want to show locally or some day, dream of going to the Congress or the Select World. I have no doubt some day I will get there with her guidance. She is the best!"
"Stacey is a rare individual. She cannot only train a horse to be its very best, she can train the rider too. Her patience is amazing and she is very generous with the time and talent. For me, riding has become FUN! Stacey found the perfect horse for me and has taken me to a new level I never dreamed I could achieve.
I cannot recommend her more highly. She is totally honest, will either recommend the right horse for you, or take the horse you have to its highest potential. She is never abusive and her patience is commendable.
If you are looking for a horse, seeking lessons or just an honest evaluation, come see Stacey. You'll never regret your decision!"
"One thing that separates good trainers from great trainers is how they respond to their students and the horses that they have in training. I have had my horses in training with Stacey since early 2001. During this tenure, she has always been gentle, knowledgeable, and extremely skilled at her profession.
At the AQHA shows (both weekend and circuit), I always feel confident that Stacey will be there to help me get my horse ready, prepare me for my pattern classes, and offer her strategy for every class that I enter. While I show in the ring, she’s there on the rail to offer a gentle nudge or an affirmation. She never yells across the arena or acts in any sort of obnoxious way on or off the show grounds! Since I show in the all round, I need a trainer gifted in all aspects of all round pleasure performance.
When I first met Stacey at her barn, I had a gut level feeling that she was someone I wanted to work with. That has proved true over and over again, through the buying and selling of my horses, full-time training, lessons, horse care maintenance, and at the horse shows.
I absolutely love her professionalism, her gift of communication both verbal and written, her ability to gently shape her students into performers, and her competence in training horses to perform to best of their ability.
I highly recommend Stacey. She’s a great trainer and a great person!"
"I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Stacey Colgan-Kleikamp to anyone interested in marketing your horse for sale. I've been dealing with Stacey over the last year and have been very satisfied with her services. She is realistic, honest, dependable, and objective.
Stacey has a very quiet and calming manner with her horses, as well as people, which is very important in marketing horses. I would be most happy to talk with anyone personally to give a first hand account of my dealings with her. Most importantly, she gets the job done!"
"I found my experience selling my horse with Stacey Colgan very positive. Her facility was very clean and all the horses there were obviously well taken care of, and looked content.
Stacey did an exceptional job marketing my gelding. She placed ads and photos in journals and on the internet, she prepared an excellent video to send to prospective buyers, and was available to take their calls and set up appointments for seeing my horse. Very important to me, was the communication. Whenever I made contact, usually through email, I had a timely response to my questions and additional information on how things were going. Anyone considering listing their horse with Stacey can do so with great confidence that she will take exceptional care of your horse, and work hard for you getting the horse sold."
"I live in Newberg, OR and have had the opportunity to meet Stacey Kleikamp personally. Stacey is a natural with horses. I have seen her work with young unbroken horses and watched her transform them into well trained pleasure/show horses. I really think she should call her business horsematch.com because she has an ability to match the personalities of horses with new owners. That is how I ended up with Sumpter. What a very special horse he is and so perfect for me.
When I asked Stacey what Sumpter was like when she first bought him, she said "he just wanted to go fast." You sure wouldn't know that now. He has a jog to die for and his lope is getting nicer everyday. We participated in our first show in August and won two blue ribbons. How fun is that?! It was his first show, and my first show in decades.
I have found Stacey to be honest, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable."
"Call me crazy. I did what everyone has always advised not to do. However, from the beginning, it just felt right with Stacey. Stacey is professional, knowledgeable and straightforward. I purchased a horse in training with Stacey, with the exception of video, sight unseen, mostly based on her assessment of the horse. When I arrived at Major Lane Stables, nothing about this beautiful filly was misrepresented. In keeping with my confidence in Stacey, my horse remains in training with her (as do I with riding lessons), at her lovely facility, and at the time Kit has graduated, she and I will continue our journey together knowing that my horse has an extremely solid training foundation and I have become a better rider. Thanks, Stacey! Let the horse dream continue . . . "
"I met Stacey when I went to look at one of her horses and ended up taking lessons from her. I wish I’d have gotten to know her 10 years ago; I’d be so much further ahead! She is very laid back and willing to work with her students so that they feel comfortable. She is calm and quiet with the horses but still expects them to do their jobs. She gives constructive criticism to her students but also gives plenty of positive feedback. I am very happy to be here and enjoying myself thoroughly. This is great fun and I like the group very much."
"Thank you Stacey for giving me the opportunity to purchase your two year old horse that we now call Bert. I did not ever think a young two year old could be started so well. Everything you told my family and me about him is so true, plus some. He is perfect, like you advertised him to be. He is gorgeous, well trained, well behaved and is the kind of horse that could take anyone to the top. I probably have been one of your most difficult clients, however you have treated me with the utmost respect and honesty. Thank you!"
"In January I purchased a mare from Stacey. Stacey and I have never met in person. I found this mare on Stacey's website and bought her sight unseen. The communication by email was very good and we were able to get this done with no complications including having the mare shipped home about three weeks later. This was a birthday present for my husband and she arrived just in time. I certainly would do business again in the same manner. Thank you Stacey!"
"We have had the opportunity to get to know and work with Stacey Colgan-Kleikamp over the last couple of years. Stacey is a very knowledgeable and very personable.
We have bred to her stallion, To Be Dynamic, three times now and Stacey is always interested in how the mares are doing. She currently owns one of the babies that we bred. She has been showing him and is doing well.
We have enjoyed working with Stacey and "Forrest", and will continue to do so because we like the results all around. Stacey also has offered to help up find good homes for Forrest's offspring because we like breeding our mares to him."
"Thank you so much for all of your help with the purchase of Ozzie. You were very accommodating and made the long distance transaction much easier than it could have been. Ozzie is and incredible horse and your comment about him "being you best friend along the way" is so very true. Ozzie has a heart of gold and is the one I have been waiting my whole life for! We still have lots of hard work ahead of us, but Ozzie makes each ride fun and I attribute that to all of the hard work and training you put in with him for over a year.
Thanks again for this jewel of a horse!"
"I have never purchased a horse off of a video and never really thought I would consider doing so. However, I purchased a horse from Stacey last year after seeing the horse, riding him and then purchasing him. To date, I have purchased two yearlings from Stacey after viewing video clips and they are better in person/horse than on video. Another huge factor is that her communication skills are endless."
"Last January I purchased "Connor" from you and often I think of sending an e-mail but between work, kids and the barn it never gets done. I just want to let you know he is simply the most wonderful horse I have ever owned. As you know, I was looking for a dead broke horse that would be suitable for my kids and an occasional show. But after a few visits to your barn and riding a couple of different horses I was torn between another horse and Connor. I would have taken them both if I could have made it work. I can't thank you enough for your professional opinion, Connor is definitely the right one for me. At five and two years old, both my kids are able to ride on the lounge line or be in the stall with him, he is so careful. We have been to several shows and are always in the ribbons. We have been to the ocean several times, camping and we trail ride at least once a month (it keeps both our minds clear! :) I can take this horse anywhere. He has such a willing mind and does everything he can to please me. He is coming along so nicely and is a pleasure to be around. I am complimented often on his personality and temperament, which is credited to you and to the breeders. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything."
"Stacey is always a pleasure to do business with and a professional in every way. Our relationship with Stacey Colgan Show Horses began more than a decade ago when a well known N.W. trainer told us about this talented young woman who was having a lot of success training and showing top notch Quarter Horses and also extremely successful in the sales of quality show horses.
Our daughter Mandy who was a youth at the time had a mare to sell and was looking for a new prospect to show AQHA. In no time at all, Stacey had a buyer for her and has since sold many of our horses. We also purchased a wonderful gelding and a mare from her that our daughter had the
opportunity to ride under Stacey and travel to many shows for several years. This proved to be a priceless experience. Our daughter still makes time to use the training she learned while under Stacey.
We have purchased several other fine horses from Stacey which we still have and that our young grandchildren are now learning to ride and show on. When we need a horse trained it always goes in with Stacey. We don't worry about them getting injured or sick. She takes her time and does the job right the first time.
This year was the second time to breed our best mare to her wonderful stallion, To Be Dynamic. Our mare took the very first cycle on one shipment of semen and is due soon. Last years Forrest baby, To Be Admired, is a gorgeous dark filly that looks just like her daddy.
Our long affiliation with Stacey has given us the opportunity to know her on a personal level and we know her qualities as a person to be the most trustworthy, honest, and caring as one can be."
"Hi Stacey,
Did You See Me Lope got here about an hour ago from his long trailer ride, he is so beautiful!!! I can't believe how sweet he is,"Stewie" is so calm too. The truck driver wanted to take him home, he said he wishes all of them were like him. My Mom thinks he is the prettiest horse she has ever seen. He is everything you said he was -- THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I will keep in touch."
"Stacey, I am so happy with the horse that we bought from you, ZippinInMyRedMercedes. We have done really well with showmanship and he is really catching on. We have already done two shows, and have done well for his first time. My Mom has even has started to ride him, because of how broke he is. He does not spook around cars and is good on the trail too. I think he likes his new barn and has some new horsey friends. Red has a wonderful personality and is definitely the horse I have been wanting. He acts just like a teenager sometimes, but he can also be "in the zone" and focused. Thanks so much for him, I love him so much!"
"Stacey has worked with us for several years now and we have used all her services-training, lessons, buying and selling. She is trustworthy and takes great care of the horses in her barn. We have never had to wonder if they are really being trained or taken care of which is nice, because we do not live close by and can't see them daily.
Stacey makes it fun to be at the shows and always has a positive outlook on how you are doing. She doesn't have the thinking that there is only one way to train a horse or rider and will find ways to make you both understand. We plan on staying with Stacey for as long as she will put up with us and highly recommend her services!"
"I personally appreciate Stacey's professionalism when handling sales. She is always prompt, informative, and willing to cooperate with the most difficult requests.
Like the time she did "a day in the life of" video with a horse that we were interested in. She saved my client a plane ticket to Oregon. My client vetted him off the viewing of that video.
The trust that I have in the information that she provides me allows me to buy without visiting the horse. Like when we purchased the last horse through her. We viewed, talked, and then we wired the money to buy the very next day.
I like do business like that. We talk, we trust, we buy/sell. As Ross Perot would say 'It's simple as that.' "
"Hello Stacey,
I wanted to thank you for all your help in the purchase of Benjamin. He has settled in just fine in Colorado. I am excited to mention that Benjamin will start some more western training with Bill Bormes and his stable on the 13th of May.
He is everything you said he would be and more. His personality is HUGE! His size is HUGE as well! Benjamin, will be a hard one to beat in the show ring. I will keep in touch with his progress!"
"Stacey:
Just a quick note to update you on the mare that I bought from you, "Cameo". She is doing great! She is completely used to all of her new surroundings. She is a doll, everyone that meets her just loves her. Thank you again, she is a great minded little mare. It is obvious by her willingness to learn and even temper that you have done a great job with her. I am looking forward to our first show coming up. I will definitely refer anyone to you that is looking for a good horse or a good trainer!"
"Thought you might want to know our trainer rode Gabby in her first show (Savanah was out of town) she did awesome!! Everyone commented on her and what a beautiful sweet calm horse she is. You have some beautiful horses at your place and I made sure to spread the word where they came
from. Savanah's first AQHA show is the 22-24. She's going to do novice western, and the trainers going to ride in junior horse. Thank you again. I'll keep you posted how they do."
" Hey Stacey!! Just wanted to send a quick note to tell you that "Richie", the Good Machine gelding that I got from you, is fabulous!!! He's more than I had hoped for!! Everyone loves him!!! I've been riding almost every day and were getting together well... First show in few weeks... He gets turned out everyday and loves it! Can't say enough great things!! Thank you again! I will of course keep you updated!!!"
"My experience with you Stacey was great, you have a wonderful facility. Your assistants are a credit to your expertise, all of them were professional and polite. Jordan, one of your assistants is a fine young man - he was patient and showed great knowledge of the craft. We are home safe now. Gem is in her stall and Ashley cannot wait to get started tomorrow. Thank you again and if you ever need a recommendation for a prospective client, for whatever reason please feel free to ask me. Thank you again for your patience and generosity."
"I just want to drop you a line to say hello from "Utah" and I. I wanted to let you know what we are accomplishing since I purchased him from you.
As you know "Utah" and I started showing in January of last year when we almost lost my father. I had to let my trainer continue to show him while I took care of family business. It wasn't until May last year that I actually got on him and began winning. I knew I was behind the eight ball in year end awards because we had already lost four months of showing when everyone else had twelve. But, in that time "Utah" and I wound up 5th in the nation in Western Pleasure. We just received our award for 2004.
Basically, those eight months were filled with many high-point shows and winning many awards. We concentrated on western pleasure because our goal is to pace him, not burn him out. He definitely is an eye-stopper!
I will cut this short and tell you that "Utah" has filled a niche that only few horses could in my life. I know he is the horse I will grow old with. He just turned 5 and is such a youngster in one way, but steady and consistent in so many others.
Oh, by the way, here locally the local newspaper even did an article on Utah and I in the April issue. Oh, yesterday at a show a lady asked my permission to paint a portrait of him. How nice!
Take care and thanks for selling me such a great horse!"
"I started looking for a horse in March of 2006, and was not finding what I really wanted. Then I saw an advertisement that Stacey had put on Dreamhorse for a gelding by the name of Lil Black Mercedes, aka “Parker”. I could tell by the excellent writing of this ad that this just may be the horse for me. The advertisement was thorough, and not only explained his show record, but more importantly, his wonderful disposition. I called Stacey early one morning, and made an appointment to come and meet Parker that day. Keep in mind I am 6 hours ONE way from her. She rearranged her schedule and made it possible for me to come and meet him. Stacey was extremely professional, yet also very friendly and fun to interact with, and she was honest and straightforward. She showed me all of Parkers “buttons” and even wrote down a list of “how to’s” for me. I was in the middle of a lot of hassle over the Paint gelding and she worked with me on making this transaction for Parker work. Stacey also agreed to take me on as a student so that she could work with Parker and I as I am an Amateur rider, and new to the Quarter Horse world. I truly look forward to many years of showing with her as my trainer, as I find her so delightful to work with.
Now, the big question……was Parker everything Stacey said he was? Let’s just say he is actually everything Stacey said, and SO much more (she could only write so much in the ad!). We showed him only 3 days after bringing him home, and did WONDERFUL! He has the most fantastic disposition; he is like a great big puppy that gets so excited to see you. But the truest testament to his personality is this: I had to go out of town for 3 days for work just 5 days after brining Parker home. My son wanted to be in charge of blanketing/un-blanketing/turning out and stalling Parker while I was gone. Now keep in mind that Parker is 16.2 hands, with a long gorgeous neck. So he can get quite tall. When my son would go to catch Parker to put him back in his stall after turn out, Parker would put his nose in the halter for Blake and then wait for him to buckle it up before lifting his head. For Blake to put the blanket on at night he had to stand on a step stool, and then would walk UNDER Parker to do the leg straps on the opposite side. The same was true to un-blanket him each morning. All of this was done while Parker was LOOSE in his stall. Parker now has his home for life with us.
Stacey, I want to thank you so very much for working with me on this transaction. I feel as if I have my "once in a lifetime" horse finally. Your excellent advertisement, honesty and sincerity, enabled me to know everything I needed to about Parker. I absolutely LOVE him, and he has already won over everyone's hearts in my family. Once again, thank you."
"Two years ago I had the fortunate opportunity to be introduced to Stacey Colgan Kleikamp, during a time that I was searching for a new horse. I tried out a horse named Jack and bought him a week later. Since that time, I have purchased three additional horses from Stacey and have found all four horses to be the nicest horses I have ever had the opportunity to own.
Stacey is what I consider to be an all-around trainer. She is incredible at finding nice animals for her clients to purchase. She is amazing at selling horses in a timely manner and to people who will take good care of your horse. She rides and trains horses better than anyone I have ever met and she takes wonderful care of both her facility and the horses that board there. Best of all, she trains her clients to ride their horses in a way that they can compete and win.
This year I was fortunate to win the Oregon Quarter Horse Novice Amateur High Point Award with a four year old gelding named Doobie. Stacey trained Doobie and taught me how to ride him. Also, I won a series All Around high point with another horse I purchased from Stacey named Daphnie. I had an incredible year.
Stacey has taught me life long skills to help me care for and ride my own horses. I highly recommend Stacey for any equine needs you may have.
Thank you Stacey for a great two years and I look forward to more fun in the future."
